Camera Workshops
HD DOP Training
To respond to demand for HD training, VMI are pleased to offer one day camera workshops for experienced video DOPs and operators.
These courses will be presented by HD Guru Paul Wheeler BSc in small groups of 5 people for maximum effectiveness. The course will be based on the Sony HDW-790P HDCAM camcorder in a drama-style kit.
The time will be split roughly 40:60 theory and practice so that delegates can learn the theory and then apply it using the camera in a practical context. Shooting HD is more akin to shooting film than video, which not only affects lighting and camera set-up but also the type of equipment likely to be used.
Experienced video camera operators can expect to receive a full grounding into the operation and set-up of HDCAM camcorders to enable them to use a HD package on their next shoot with confidence.
Due to the level of this course, only experienced Digi Beta camera operators and DOPs should apply. Lunch and Refreshments are included in the price.
Each workshop costs £250. Terms are payment in advance and refund of 100% of charges is possible for cancellation upto 1 month before the course and 50% until a week before. Therafter, there are no refunds possible.
